Welcome!

Let me tell you a little about myself. For starters, my name is Michael Kaluzny. I am a fresh graduate of Phillips Academy Andover, Eagle Scout, (former) DramaLab producer, CBYX 2009-2010 scholarship recipient (more about that in a minute) and all around nice guy. (or so I think)
Through this blog I am attempting to document, share and digest my participation in the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) 2009-2010. The goal of CBYX is to provide 250 American students with the opportunity to live and learn in Germany with support from the US and German governments. Thanks to this program I am living just north of Hanover in Neustadt am Rübenberge in Braunschweig with a host family until July 2010.
I’m also writing a column for my local paper, The Andover Townsman and I will update this page as soon as I have more information about that. Here is my first column. Enjoy!
Finally, this blog does have a history. In the spring of 2009 I took a course titled, Media Studies, Looking Glass, and our term project was to produce a blog and publish at least three posts a week. Our topics had to center around our experience and interaction with the media. If you’ve taken a look at the archives, you can see that I have produced posts on topics ranging from Facebook to Gmail and Youtube to Net Neutrality. Additionally, we were required to read and respond to our classmates posts. I had tried to start blogs prior to this class, but a lack of readers and topics thwarted my efforts. Thanks to this course I had the motivation and readership to support a blog and I’ve decided that I just can’t let it die.
If you have any comments, concerns, questions or advice, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Looks like you’re living the dream!!!
